Jake turned eight years old on Monday. I can hardly believe how big he is now. It seems like yesterday that Matt and I were trying so desperately to have him. Now he is a smart, fun, sweet and loving great big brother and a terrific son. Jacob we are so very proud of you! You are such a great role model to your brother and sister and really an inspiration to us. Thank you for being you!
To celebrate, Jake had his very first sleepover party! It was a lot of fun. Boys are pretty easy. There was no fighting or crying which was great. They did get a little rowdy at some points but what are you going to do... they are boys! The theme was Harry Potter. We had lots of goodies such as pretzel wands and wizard hat cupcakes, fish gut stew and really nasty jelly beans. The flavors were bugars, vomit, grass, dirt, earth worm... I could go on! They had fun trying them and then running to the trash to spit them out! Jake wanted pumpkin pie for his birthday cake so daddy made his famous pumpkin pie from scratch...mmmmmm! We had potion class where we made slime and foaming bats blood. The kids watched a movie, played and settled down for bed in a tent. Well... after all the wrestling. They loved it! The next morning we had breakfast and a scavenger hunt. It was a great party. Matt and I really loved doing it and it was so much easier than we expected! Happy birthday Jake! Thank you Drew, Ryan, Stephan and Shaun for celebrating with us!
